This is Sarge. He is one of Emma and Stubbys puppies. He was born in April
of 2007 and lives in Des Moines with his awesome human Mom and Dad.
Sarges mom writes:
"I am checking you website almost daily for updates. I really love the pictures. I
wish I could get another baby but Paul still says no. They are just precious. Lucky
and Stubby produced some good ones! I'll get you some updated pictures of Sarge
soon. He has grown alot and is about 47 pounds. He is covered with freckles both
black and brown. I still can't believe what a good boy he is. We can do anything
with him and he could care less. (Except clip his nails) He just loves people and
follows us everywhere. He is the best tug of war dog and strong! We should have
named him Linus because he drags his blanket just about everywhere. He has
learned to play catch too but only retrieves when he wants to. Sarge and our cat
Willie are buddies...sort of. Sarge is such a brute that we have to make sure he
doesn't hurt kitty. The cat usually puts him in his place though.

Well, Happy Holidays to you and your family and I'll be excited to see the next litter.
I'll send folks you way if anyone is looking for a great dog!
Introducing B.J. He is one of Stubby and Emma's puppies. He lives in Iowa with the Fentons, his big

This is Lucy. She was born in November of 2006 and is Emma & Stubbys puppy. She lives in Iowa
with her human family and as you can tell from the pictures she is slightly spoiled! Following is a
note from her human mom, Michelle.
Merry Christmas to you and your family! I am writing to let you know that Lucy is the best
Christmas present that I could have ever gotten and to thank you for all the socialization
that you gave her. We had a huge Christmas get together last night and she just walked
around and let the kids handle her, played with the adults and was just a very happy little
puppy. It was so nice not to have to watch her be scared or to be crying in her kennel.
Also we have a blanket on the floor, like you did in the living room and that is where she
plays and if she has an accident, which she has had very few, that is where she usually
does it. That makes it so much easier. Now for the last praise at this time. She slept all
night and when she got out of bed instead of just going potty on the floor, she headed for
the door. It was great!!!

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! Merry Christmas!!

The Heim Family took home two puppies that were born in November of 2006. We were sorry to hear that their "boys" were stolen when they
were about a year old. In February of 2008 the Heim family decided to purchase another puppy from me. Following are comments from Kim about
the bassets she has gotten from Kennyacres.
These are the brothers that were stolen.
They were born in November of 2006 and
are from Emma and Stubby. We hope that
they are being loved and taken care of.

.
Kennyacres does a super job in every aspect!
Jen is honest, caring, great to work with and the
communication is strong. We now have our
second pup from Kennyacres and continue to be
amazed at the quality and personality. Our
puppy is very healthy, loving and smart! Wally is
the BEST!. He is an excellent example of a basset
hound. Did I mention he is beautiful - looks and
brains. I would recommend a Kennyacre pup to
anyone - you will have a forever love. K. Heim,
Iowa
HELLO!

The boys are doing great!!! We love
them! They are such good boys and
so loving. We sure are thankful for
them. They are each a joy and so
different from each other! I couldn’t
have imagined they would be so
cool! I could go on and on and on
about them. Just want to tell you
thanks again and we will keep in
touch! The Heim Family.

Another comment from the Walker family:
Kennyacres is a great, caring breeder wanting to fit each puppy into the right home. Jen has been awesome to work with in bringing joy to our family. We got our tri colored
puppy in June of 2007. He was easily trained and is now 57 pounds of pure love and loyalty. He is laid back and loves people. Jen's adult dogs have excellent temprements
and are lovingly cared for by Jen and her family. Jen is more than a breeder, she makes sure each puppy is healthy and they are all handled from birth so they are very
social puppies by the time they reach their new family. She loves her Bassets and it shows. All of the puppies are beautiful and healthy. I would recommend Kenny Acres to
anyone wanting a high quality addition to their family.

This is an email from Chowders mom, Katy:

So he is the cutest little thing I have ever seen in my life! I fell in love with him right away! I gave him 2 baths when he got home...He seemed to
like it and was just so playful all night long. He does like to eat alot! The first night he cried most of the night. I fell asleep at one point and woke up
and him and the cat were at opposite corners of the foot of the bed. It's a start for Sterling! He is so funny with him. He acts like he doesn't like
him, but I know he does. He is so curious.Whenever he cries Sterlings face is so funny. He looks at me and is like "what did you bring home?"
Sterlings hit him on the head a couple of times like he's one of his toys. Chowder loves him and wants to play with him all the time. He even submits
to him. But he does pretty well with waiting till he's outside to go potty. Only a few accidents but I caught them all. He is the biggest cuddler and
does very well in the car. He is awesome with people and other animals. He is pretty much perfect! Last night he slept through the entire night and
woke up at seven and cried cuz he had to go potty and waited till we got outside to go. He cries a lot when I put him in his kennel but that should
stop once he gets used to it, right? I'll have to try and get some good pictures of him and Sterling if they stay still long enough! Thank you again for
such a wonderful puppy!

This is from Jennifer in KS. She is the owner of Sophie, one of Lucky and Stubbys
puppies born 11/11/07. She was born grey and white and has blue eyes.
Hi, It's Jennifer. Sophie is doing so good. She is probably the
happiest most spoiled puppy I have ever seen. She gets along our
lab dog so well, I would have to say that they are inseperable.
Anyways she has grown some. Mainly her feet and ears, and she
has gotten a little longer. She is doing great, she is definately a
people friendly dog, and she absolutely loves car rides. She loves
baths but hates being cold the most afterwards. She definately gets
cold easily lol. Anyways thank you for the e-mail everything is going
so well. Here are a few recent pictures of her.

Hi Jen! Just wanted to give you an update on Wally. He is such a JOY! He is a wonderful and
loving pup. He likes to cuddle and to be held. What a big baby! He is laid back with a sweet
personality. He is not much of a "mover" and is just happy playing with his toys or laying by
us. Wally is in the house and I think we will keep him inside for two reasons: #1 He is soooo
good/mannerly/loving and he needs to be close to us (and vice versa). #2 I am afraid
someone will take a liking to him and steal him like they did the boys. I am not willing to take
any chances with him. Wally has made a home with us and we love him!! He is so good looking
and that face.....Thanks for trusting us to love this pup! Kim - 03/19/08
This is Ginger. She was born in Nov '07 and is Lucky's puppy. She now

"I wanted you to know that we love having Fern in our life. She is the princess of the
house, and such a joy. Thank you for helping to make her a part of our family."

Introducing Little Blue Dory. She lives in PA with her human family. She is one of Cleo and Stubbys puppies
that was born 12/21/07. Following is an email from her human mom.

Hi Jen,
We bought a puppy off of you this spring. She was born in December, so she is not even a year old. I just
wanted to let you know that I am not sure what kind of puppies you raise there, but keep it up. Dory is like a
little shadow. She follows me around everywhere. She lays under my computer desk when I am playing on the
computer. When I walk in the yard or play with my children, she is right there with us. She is just the cutest. I
love her super long ears and giant feet. Her fur is so soft, I hope it stays that way forever. I have attached a
picture of her to let you know how she is growing. We all love her very much. She cuddles up in bed with me
every night, and when we are watching TV on the couch, she is right there cuddling up with us. I couldn't have
asked for a friendlier puppy.
Thank you very much.

Say Hi to Oakley. He is owned by Kyle and Ashley and is one of Stubby and Pearls babies born
07/02/08.
Ashley writes "Hey Jen- Oakley had what we consider a great first week! The last few nights he
hasn't made a peep once we put him in his crate for bed at night, and then he has slept between 6-8
hours! Only a few accidents inside, but he's going outside regularly (he doesn't mind his leash, just
tries to eat it) and he has barked at the door to go out twice. He had his vet visit yesterday and they
couldn't get over how cute he is, which we all already knew! He had a good checkup and didn't mind
being checked out. He weighed 13.6 lbs. I'm attaching a few photos, feel free to post on the website
if you want. More to come! Take care and thank you again for our baby. -Ashley"

Flash is out of Val and Shmooze and was born 06/18/08. She is owned by Lisa and Ryan in Iowa. Here is an email from them.

Hi Jen! We have attached 2 pictures taken today of our niece Kate and Flash. (Feel free to post them on your website, if you want to.) We
could not be happier with Flash, who is now almost 13 weeks old. She has grown a lot and is getting more and more brown on her all of the
time. She loves to go on walks, play with her toys, and play with our niece and nephew. She has been sleeping through the night for a few
weeks now. She has very few accidents in the house and loves anytime that she can spend outside when it is nice out. We are SO pleased
with Flash. She has a wonderful and silly temperament. Thank you so much for her!!

Introducing Bentley. He is out of Val and Shmooze and was born -6/18/08. He now lives with the Polston Family in KS. This is
what his new family has to say about him - We are working on going up the stairs. Going down will have to wait - he is not too
sure about that. We are leaning where to potty outside which is pretty cool. Makes clean up easier. Bentley is a blessing to us
all. He is a huge hit with all that meets. He is a lot of fun and a joy to have around. He has turned this house upside down -
but in a good way!!
Say "Hello" to Horton. He is owned by Terri in CO. He was born 06/18/08 and is
out of Val and Shmooze. Following is a letter from Horton. Too cute!

Dear Jen,

Don't know if you remember me, but my name is Horton and I was adopted by a lady named Terri. I just wanted to send you a note and a picture to
let you know that things are going really, really well here in Denver (except for the two grumpy ol' cats that I live with...but that's another story).
Anyway, I really love being a mountain doggie. I guess my human likes me a lot because she gives me cookies just for being cute and doesn't seem
to mind that I like to play at 5:00 in the morning. I've mastered going up and down the stairs to go outside so mommy doesn't have to carry me
anymore - which is a good thing because my friends were making fun of me. I still step on my ears sometimes and tumble down a few steps, which
makes mommy laugh and call me a slinky dog.
My favorite things are to chew on an old slipper I found under the bed, hunt for cookies that mommy hides for me to find and chase ice cubes
across the kitchen floor. I also like to chase my tail - round and round and round - until I get dizzy and walk like a drunk puppy. Some days I go to
Doggie Day Care, which is great because I get to see my friends. Mommy was a little worried because I like to play with the big dogs, but they're
really nice and don't snap at me at all. Sometimes when I come home from playing all day, I'm so tired that I fall asleep with my face in my food
dish. Mommy thinks that's pretty funny.
Next month I start Puppy Class where I'll learn how to 'sit' and 'stay.' I'm a little nervous, but mommy says they have cookies so that makes it
better. I'll do anything for a cookie...even open the cabinet door with my nose and pull out the box - but I learned not to eat the box, it's not as
tasty as the cookies inside! But now, the cookies are in a place waaay up high and I can't reach them. Maybe one of the grumpy ol' cats will help...

Mommy says that next month we are going to KC to visit her sister and I will be able to see my brother Bentley. I can't wait! We played lots and
lots when I saw him a few weeks ago. He's bigger than me, but mommy says I'm catching up!
Anyway, I just wanted to thank you for picking Terri as my human!

Sincerely,

Horton Octavius, Prince of Shmooze

Hey Jen~ our little guy is doing so well! He looks like a kid now, not a baby. I think he looks like Pearl but with Stubby's
wider nose. He's very popular around our apt. complex! The maintenance guys love him and come over when they're around.
He has a girlfriend, Zoe, the german sheperd who lives around the corner. Must have a thing for g. sheperds! We went
home to Omaha last weekend and stayed with my mom and her 2 dachshunds. All of the boys got along well and Oakley
loved her yard and being with his "uncles" (the dachshunds). He met all of the extended family and they all commented on
how great he was. Hope all is well with you guys. Oakley sends his first two moms lots of kisses and tells the other
bassets hi. I'll send pictures soon.

Have a great weekend!
~Ashley

Jen,

Thought I'd send some pics from Doggie Day Care...or as I call it 'Disneyland.' In the mornings I ask Horty if he's ready to go to Disneyland and his
tail wags so fast it looks like he's about to take off! The staff loves him! They tell me that he's like the WalMart greeter because he has to say hi to
all the dogs when they come in of a morning. His best buddy there is a Westie named Henry, apparently they are inseparable. I've got several pictures
of Horton and Bentley from a few weekends ago, I'll send those along soon. Horton is growing like crazy. He was 21 lbs at the last vet visit and we go
again next Saturday, I'm guessing he's gained at least 5 lbs this time. Bentley is still bigger though...you were right, he is a giant! They had so much
fun together. Kelly and I are pretty sure they remembered each other because there was no getting-to-know-you sniffing at all...they just ran towards
each other and started rolling around and playing. It was hilarious!

Hope all is well with you and yours.
Take care,
Terri & Horton

I am pleased to introduce Lily. She is a tri colored puppy out of Pearl and Stubby born 07/02/08. She went to live with the Peabody
family in Maine. Her new family consists of her human mommy and daddy, two adorable human sisters and a basset brother named
Lucas.
Lily and Lucas enjoying a day boating.
Lily
hi jen,

just wanted you to know that lily and lucas are doing GREAT together. i couldn't be happier with her, she is sooooo sweet natured and he and she
love each other. my birthday was the other day and the family had a get together and everyone was so amazed at how well it was working out. my
kids thought i was crazy to do two pups with the girls being so little , but they had a ball with the pups and there was NO biting at all, jen. you have
no idea how much stress has been taken off of me. lily was just content to have everyone hold her and she is very social and comfortable with new
people. i haven't even had to work with her on it. she just goes up to everyone. i wanted to tell you also that when lily came into the airport my
husband was so impressed with the crate, it was so big. the one that jackson came in was a cat crate and he was pretty cramed in it. we fell asleep
last night before i put lily in her crate and i woke up at 5 am and she was still asleep between my husband and i. i don't think she had moved a
muscle all night. she sleeps so well, sometimes 10 hours and never whines or complains. usually i get up and potty and feed her before she even
wakes up. that's amazing to me. lucas is really good like that too, but i thought it would take her awhile to get there. i'll send more pics soon.

Say Hello to Mac and Daisy. They are out of Vals litter born 06/18/08. Daisy is owned by Jennifer and Mac is owned by Jennifer's
parents, Mike and Sandy.
Here are some recent pictures of Flash. She is getting to be such a big girl. She weighs over 30 pounds already. She
is still a very silly puppy and loves to lay around and play. We recently fenced in our back yard for her and she loves
to run around and play out back. But, her favorite things to do is lay between us on the couch and nap while we watch
TV. Thank you so much for such a perfect dog for us. She is everything we hoped she would be and more.

MAC
Dear Jen,
I thought I would send some new pictures of Daisy and Mac. Mac weighs in at 35lbs. We have nicknamed him "thug". Daisy has gained
5 pounds sincer her last vet visit and weighs 24 lbs. They are both doing great. Both are getting better with going potty outside. A
few minor setbacks but otherwise they are doing great.
Thanks so much for all that you do.

Sincerely,
Jennifer
Hi Jen, Apparently Bentley has been on my laptop - look what I found...

hi jen -
it's me, Bentley and i'm awemost 5 months ode. Val and Shmooze is my parents who had me, but now i wiv wiff Marc and Kelly and Chase and Logan.
things is grate here in kansas.
this must be a rewwy grate
pwace cuz even my brudder
Horton comed all the way here
from coworado to see me!! I
knewed it was him, i knewed it,
i truwee did!! We pwayed and
pwayed and ran ourselves siwwy.
my mommy tooked pitures of us as
we was nappin'. ain't we cute?

Then my mommy and daddy taked me all the way to indinanna to see my daddy's mommy. mommy told
me not to be a back seat dwiver (what ev'r that is), so i sleeped. hope i followed indrections good -
cuz i do that real good at home. my monkey and me sleeped a lot on that trip.

i ran and pwayed in my granmommys yard.
it was hard smellin' all them new smells -
so i wayed down to rest. my mommy laughed

luv
bentley

I am amazed!! He even got pictures attached to this letter. You might want to put them in the appropriate places if you post this letter. Bentley is
doing great!! He is about 35 lbs. His head and ears are almost all brown and his back end is turning brown. He has tons of black spot-a-dots (as
Logan likes to call them) on his back and brown ones on his feet. They seem to be multiplying by the week!! He has finally mastered the stairs up and
down. He loves rawhides and goes thru them like they are nothing. We let him out back and once in a while he will spot a squirrel. Usually the squirrel
is two steps ahead of Bentley, because before Bentley can decide if he should sit on the stairs and watch or go chase it, the squirrel is up the tree
and laughing at him!!

He has been a great addition to our family. He is a great dog and a little lover.
Thanks again for all you do and for breeding such awesome bassets.
Happiest of Holidays to your and yours

The Polston Family
Marc, Kelly, Chase, Logan and of course Bentley

S.D. with his human mom and is a very spoiled boy.
hi jen,

just a note to tell you how stewie is doing, he is growing like a weed, it is hard to see him as the puppy that i
brought home. he got to play in the snow for the first time and he loves it. he is a big talker, he like to bark at
the cats and when they are out of his reach he likes to whine at them to play. when he plays with his toys he is
always making growling noises. he also likes to help unload his own treats when i bring them home. i just love
having him and can't think of not having him around to love and play with. i am sending pictures, please feel free
to post them on your web site if you want.
can't wait until the next ones are here and can get stewie a playmate.
thanks again for such a wonderful puppy!
