Welcome to the webhome of Kennyacres Bassets and Poms. We are located in central Nebraska on 25 acres, about 1/2 hour from Grand Island and about 1 1/2 hours from Lincoln. My husband and I have 6 beautiful children and lots of pets. I have always loved animals and have always wanted to eventually breed dogs. I am very thankful that I can be a stay at home mom and wife and that I now have the time to devote to breeding my dogs. I have one male Basset Hound that is AKC and APRI registered. We are proud that he acquired his APRI championship status in October of 2008. He is the only breeding in-tact male basset I currently own. I also have 4 female bassets that I use for breeding. Three are AKC and APRI registered and one is APRI registered. I have also started buying good quality breeding stock Pomeranians. I have 1small 4lb red male that is AKC registered from awesome bloodlines and 1 small 4lb AKC registered black & tan female that is beautiful. Then I have a solid black male that is APRI registered and around 8 lbs. And 2 females that are a bit larger - around 10 lbs that I breed to my black male. One of these females is an AKC and APRI 10lb blue merle parti and is beautiful. The other female is an orange brindle that is around 10lbs and is also AKC and APRI registered. Hopefully soon we will have pom puppies to sell along with my bassets. I breed each female only once per year, or every other heat cycle. Keeping my breeding stock healthy is very important to me and is my top concern. I can't have healthy puppies if I don't have healthy moms and healthy dads. Each litter is carefully planned and anticipated. We usually have a waiting list for our pups. Contact me to find out how you can get put on the list. I have dabbled with showing my dogs some. As I mentioned above, in October of 2008 Stubby earned his championship status. Showing is lots of work but it is also a lot of fun. As fun and rewarding as showing my dogs is, showing isn't the goal of my breeding operation, my goal is to breed for pet quality pups that also conform to the breed standard. My dogs are totally a hobby for me and I absolutely love my dogs and want to give families a chance to own a quality puppy at an affordable price. My top priority in breeding is the health of the puppy closely followed by temperament. Each puppy is handled daily by myself, my husband and all six of my kids. The puppies are very used to being handled and played with, and by the time they go home to their new families they are very confident, people oriented puppies. Our dogs are wonderful with all people, big and small, young and old and get along well with other animals too. I am very proud of my dogs and my breeding program and I work very hard to produce the best quality puppies I can. You can rest assured that if you buy one of my puppies you will get a quality puppy and a friend for life. |
